Help & Hints

To find the disruptor roles, open the Game Deck by tapping the icon in the bottom right. Tap the cards to flip them over and reveal the roles.

Most people play this game. Most don’t know they’re playing it. That’s one reason why most groups get less done than they want to and move slower then they hope to.

Noticing Disruptive Behaviors

The first step to accelerating collaboration is to identify the ways in which each of us could unwittingly disrupt it. Let's get familiar with the many ways "Disruptors" might show up at work.

Rules

1. Open the card panel using the "Deck" button below

2. Tap the first card to turn it over and read about the role on the back.

3. As a team choose one of three options...

-Tell a story (one person tells a short story about someone they know who played the role)

-Act the part (try to act out the role, demonstrating the disruptive behavior)

-Skip it (Skip talking about the role altogether... good for when no one has direct experience with the role)

4. Repeat steps 2-3 for each card in the Deck

Help & Hints

When trying to play a Disruptor role, think of someone from your past who has behaved like the role card description.

Try To Get Caught

Can you deliberately demonstrate this disruptive behavior? Can you spot other Disruptors in action? Let's find out.
Rules

1. One at a time, choose any of the Disruptor roles and try to get another player to guess the role you're playing.

2. Behave like the Disruptor you chose for up to 2 minutes.

3. Guess each other's roles.

4. Give one point for each correct guess and one point to the performer when their role is guessed correctly.

Examples of good discussion topics:

- Where we're at with our current project.

- What movie we should go see together.

Choose A Discussion Topic

Time to up the ante and make it a little more real and relatable. Choose a topic for discussion. Make it something you would regularly discuss together.
Rules

1. Choose a discussion topic the whole group can focus on.

2. Take turns drawing disruption cards and continue the discussion as the role you drew.

3. Try to identify each other's roles, when you get called out, draw a new card, and continue.

4. See how many roles you can get through in 5 minutes.

Try To Catch Yourself

Now try to figure out what happens when people expect you to behave like a Disruptor you didn't intend to be.
Rules

1. Assign each player a role, but don't tell them what role they have been assigned.

2. Have each player hold the role they've been assigned up so every player can see it except them

3. Have all players treat each other as if they are playing the role they have been assigned.

4. Players win this round when they correctly guess the role they've been assigned.
